Hoof and Claw is the studio of Matthew Richardson - an artist, illustrator and ceramicist, living and working in Norwich. Ideas are explored across a range of media and materials. At the heart of a diverse output is the process of playful assemblage - of gathering and connecting fragments, by folding, stretching, cutting and joining, as things are made to ‘fit’ and are built into 2D and 3D structures. These new images and structures bring with them traces and echos of history and use.
